We had a great Christmas this year. We spent it going back and forth between our parents houses. I think this year was better than other years because i didn't have to work and actually got to enjoy my time off from school. We both got the things we wanted for Christmas and got some fun surprises too! We aren't really good at taking pictures but we did get a few over the Holiday.

Sadly we only got to see these two a little bit because they were sick :(

This last week we went down to Arizona for Ryun's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and ceremony. The weather was so nice down there we didn't want to come back! We only have a few pictures of the wedding right now but we will post more later.

One of Glen's bucket list items was to get over 200 in bowling. He takes a class twice a week at school and is a league with Kenyon and Kenny. Well he finally gets to cross it off his list. He got a 208! I told him if he ever got over 200 i would blog about it so here it is! Here is my bowler with his new shirt. (they give you shirt if you get over 200)

For Halloween we decided we wanted to be the hamsters form the Kia Soul commercial. The costumes were homemade but i think they turned out well. A lot of people didn't know who we were and we got really itchy from the stuffing we used to look like fat hamsters but other than it it was great! We had fun hanging out with our families.

Things I are looking forward to:
1. Thankgiving break! We need a few days of school soo bad! We also get to see our little nice Elanor so that is plus.
2. Christmas. I know its early but my tree is already up. The second Halloween is over i believe it should be acceptable to start decorating for Christmas
3. Girls trip to Vegas with the best friends to see Celine Dion in January!

Food first:
I decided to be adventurous and make some homemade fruit roll-ups that i saw on Pinterest.
They tasted really good but took about 6 hours to make. Worth it? No

I have also been working on new Halloween decorations, i don't really have room for more but i cant resist. I made these with my cricut, they were supper easy.

Lastly we just have to tell you about our amazing girls team. We figured out that the guys team is 10 times easier to coach but we still love our girls. The girls were great. They made tennis a team sport, which is hard to do, and they made sure everyone was included (boys could care less about that.) What we are most thankful for is what they did for Glen when his mom passed away. All the girls went in as a team and bought two shade tree's to plant by the court in honor of his mom. It was very hard for Glen and I to not cry when they told us at practice. The tree's are in and they are beautiful. Now Glen has a little piece of his mom at courts.

This is not the whole team but just a few of them after practice one day.

Glen's mom passed away Sunday after battling cancer for 2 years. While her passing is a sad thing we are happy to know she is back with her Heavenly Father and out of pain. I am so grateful to have known Debbie for 3 years. I see so many of Debbie's good qualities in Glen, and I can't began to express how grateful I am for the way that she helped raise Glen. I know she had a big part in the way Glen treats women and more specifically me. I am so grateful for the love of the gospel that Glen has partly because of his Mom. She always made a point to express the importance of the gospel and the temple to us. She was such a good example by going multiple times a week to serve in the Lords house. I believe that Glen got his genuine concern for people from from Debbie. She spent the majority of her life taking care of people as nurse. If any one knows Glen they know about his love for animals. I had wondered where the idea or becoming a vet or owning petting farm came from until I started hearing all his childhood stories about all the crazy animals he had while living with his Mom. Even while we had our hedgehog she was always calling and asking about it and was always in support of Glen getting other pets. We will miss Debbie a lot, but we are so grateful for everything she has taught us and the wonderful example she has been to us.

2 Years!
Sunday was also our 2 year anniversary! 2 years ago i married my best friend. I cannot believe how fast time has gone! We have not celebrated it yet due to moving and the other circumstances but i thought i would take the time to tell Glen how much i love him and how grateful i am for him! I cant even imagine my life without him!
He was sneaky and surprised me with these....

Summer!

I had 3 days between my spring and summer semesters so we took a short vacation down to St. George. The highlight of our trip was going to the Little Mermaid play at the Tuachan. I have seen several plays there but this was Glen’s first. They always do an amazing job! We celebrated the 4th with a BBQ with the family at Bob’s house and fireworks at my parents.

Well it doesn't really feel like summer yet, we both work part-time, go to school, and the weather is horrible. The most bitter sweet thing lately though is tennis season ends this weekend! (assuming the weather cooperates). We have loved being coaches. We had a great season with 3 out of our 5 teams going to state this weekend in Salt Lake. I think i love it the most because it reminds me of when i went to state as a player. We have put so much time and effort into tennis that we are really sad its ending but happy to have a little more time to ourselves till the girls season starts this August. We are so proud of our team and happy we at least have another year with the boys. While we really only have a few weekend vacations planned this summer we cant wait for a little more free time with each other and friends and we get our first niece in June that we cant wait for! We look forward to more weekends like the one this weekend with state, best friend Kristen in town, and best friend Shayli's birthday celebration! Happy Birthday Shay!( even though it was yesterday).
This month was also our best friend Tay Tay's birthday and we got her the best present of all! We should be her favorite siblings for this!

Once again we suck at blogging. I always try and wait till we take pictures but that NEVER happens. So I decided I would finally give a small summary of what we have been up to with the few pictures we have. First off we love being tennis coaches. It’s hard because it consumes most of our free time but it’s so worth it. It feels so good to be outside playing every day again. We love seeing the progress of each kid, and we love being entertained by the kids, and believe me they are entertaining. Most of all I love coaching with Glen. It makes it that much more fun and I know I couldn’t do it without him; although I am known as the mean coach because I love to make them run :). I know you think I don’t blog but if you ever get bored and want to see that I do blog go to our tennis blog. Next pictured event we have is friend time. I feel like lately we don’t get much friend time but we did get a nice weekend at our friend Jake’s birthday party. Katie did an amazing job and to top it off she did it all with a new born baby! The decorations were cute and the food was wonderful! It was Kenny’s birthday too so we sung to him as well.

Lastly it’s a family tradition that when all the guys go to Priesthood session my mom and all us girls do something fun. This year we decided to eat at CPK and do a little shopping after. (Only my mom, Jocelyn, and I enjoyed the shopping part, Tori, Tay, and the boys weren’t too excited.) However Stratton’s new favorite movie is Tangled and to his enjoyment PF Chang’s has two giant horses that looked just like Maximums from the movie. He was mad he couldn’t ride the horse but settled for a picture instead.

We promise we will try and do better but it’s a good start for now!

As you all know Glen and I love tennis! I love teaching just as much as I love playing. I have always had the dream to be a high school tennis coach and it has finally come true! It was a last minute opportunity but we took it! Timpanogos, where we both went to school, had an opening for boys and girls head coaches so we get to work together coaching both! It's gonna be a lot of work but we are so excited to be at the school where we both played!

This year we spent our Christmas in Missouri visiting Glen’s Mom, Grandma, Brett and Steph. We had a wonderful time seeing all the St. Louis attractions, spending time with wonderful family, and having a nice time away from school. When we got back we had more great family time and got everything we wanted for Christmas! We got a lot of fun things and really were blessed this Christmas! I do have to put in a plug for my favorite present... I finally got a KitchenAid! Glen is probably sick of me talking about it but it's wonderful! I cannot wait for all the things I will make in it! It will make my baking a lot easier! So don't be surprised if the next few posts are food! We have a lot of pictures so enjoy!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break went way too fast for us! This was one of BYU's first breaks longer than a day. We are already counting down the days till Christmas break! We spent most of our time at my parents house. Tay had to have surgery this week so it was our job to entertain Tori and Taylor's roommate who was down for the week, Tanya. For this Holiday's treat, I decided to attempt my first pumpkin roll. While it was not easy it turned out so so good! It was very yummy and something I will make again for sure. Stratton also had his first sleepover at our place this week. Ice cream, Nintendo, lots of Toy Story 3 and sleeping in our bed led to a fun, little party. I am already getting started on some Christmas crafts and have all my decorations up! We can't wait for Christmas! More crafts will come soon!

Halloween

Halloween for us this year was pretty chill. We went to our ward trunk-or-treat which ended up being indoors and pretty boring... After that we went up to our parents house to see Tori, Stratton, and Easton in their costumes. We ate, played games, and just hung out all night. Sunday we went back up to my parents house for Tori's birthday party. She wanted me to make cake pops for her cake so i decided to make cute little mummy ones.

A present for my Brother

The other day, my brother saw a beanie with a beard connected to it. He asked me if I could try and make one for him. So... I compiled all my crochet experience which I had learned in highschool to make one for him. It turned out pretty good. Its all made of yarn and I crocheted it all. I was surprised it turned out the way it did. And, apparently, so was Ryun.

Its that time again! We celebrated tonight by carving pumpkins. Kandace carved the cat and I carved the whatever. We still don't know what it is. The ward is having a trunk-or-treat and we have a great scene planned for our trunk and surroundings. Pictures to come.

Our ward had a friends for scouting auction this last week. They thought it would be better than going around the ward, asking for money. We agreed and volunteered a baked good for the auction. For those of you who know my wife, she loves to make cake pops, and I being her little sous chef, assisted in making cake pops. We then dropped them off because we had to go to family pictures. At what first seemed like a good idea to make them for the auction, later turned to stress for her as she wondered if her cake pops would even be sold at the auction. I texted one of my sources at the auction, and they informed us that they had just sold for over $20! Talk about a confidence boost! We made them in honor of Halloween. We were glad we could help contribute to friends of scouting through the ward in a way that was so much fun!

So were sitting on the couch the other day, just watching some tv, and a little spider happened to descend from its web and land on Kandace's stomach. Before I knew it, she let out a blood curdling scream! (Exactly like the one below) I am talking about the one off Home Alone 1 when Kevin puts that spider on Marv's face. It was like 9:00 at night. I am pretty sure the neighbors though that I was killing her... Darn Spiders...

Trying New Things

I am finally getting back to crafts! I have seen so many things i have wanted try lately! This summer i fell in love with red velvet cup cakes and found a good recipe for red velvet cake on Bakerella. It turned pretty good... it tasted soo good just didn't really turn out red.. but im working on it. Next Jocelyn and I made Halloween subway art. I got the idea from the blog http://tatertotsandjello.blogspot.com/. It took a little while but turned out really cute! We just cut a bunch of Halloween sayings from my cricket out on vinyl. I know its a little early for Halloween stuff i just get so excited for holiday crafts! Here are the pictures!

Our new friend

Kandace walked outside into our stairwell the other day and asked what was up in the corner. I came out and looked up... and saw our new little friend. He is a small brown bat and his name is Charles. He has shown some signs of life. Does he really look that scary? He moves a couple inches, changing his spot throughout the day. I did a little experiment to see how good their hearing is. I ate potato chips below him. His ears would twitch frivolously every time I would crunch on the chips. He has done no harm to us and has posed no threat. He is growing on me and terrifying Kandace. We have called the apartment complex twice and they said they would do something about him. My guitar history

My brother happened to do a post on his bicycle history and it was very intriguing. So I decided to do a personal history on something I am adamant about; my guitars. From guitar #1 to guitar #5. I don't have them all anymore. I ended up buying and selling them to see how good of an upgrade I could get for a small price. So far... I have spent only $50 extra altogether to upgrade from #1 to #5. It was a pretty sweet deal!

Guitar #1. Oscar Schmidt dreadnought-Got if for Christmas at age 17.

Guitar #3. Harmony acoustic guitar-forgettable.

Guitar #5. Aria Hummingbird-Dream guitar (for now) and will not buy another one till after vet-school as of yesterday, according to the deal I made with Kandace.

Happy Anniversary! As of August 14th! We had a great time during our anniversary. Poor Kandace was sick the whole time though. It was hard for her to taste the wonderful food at the melting pot. We didn't realize how much food we were ordering until it was too late. Artichoke and cheese fondue, sirloin steak, shrimp, duck, veggies, salads, chocolate fondue, etc... We will definitely go again. We stayed at embassy suites for the night because we were up in Salt Lake for a wedding anyways. Great Hotel! We went there on our wedding night also. Love you Babe!

Better Late Than Never...

This is going to be a long post.. We start with the 4th of July. We started it off going to the stadium of Fire with Taylor and Eric and it was so good! Carrie Underwood was Amazing! Sadly, we left our camera so no pictures of that. For the actual 4th of July ,we celebrated it at Bob's house. One of the best 4th of July parties we have yet attended! We had a great BBQ, amazing fireworks and ended the night with ice shot glasses. Thanks Bob! Also here are a few of my 4th of July crafts. Next, one of the reasons it took so long to write a new post was because we moved down to Provo. Lets just say we are not moving again till we absolutely have too! We are almost done getting everything unpacked. The best part about our new place is a large covered deck. We decided now would be the perfect time to buy a porch swing for our new deck. Glen found an old one on KSL and with a little handy work, new wood and new paint it turned out really well! We also got a new BBQ for our birthday's to really make for the perfect deck. Lastly was Amy and Jordan's wedding. Everything went perfect and Amy looked beautiful! We are so happy for them and know they have waited a LONG time for that day to come!

It is SUMMER! We have had many projects so far this spring/summer and are happy to have finished them. I just went fishing for my first time with brother-in-law Jared and had a blast! Kandace has been working hard on homemade crafts such as: earring holders, shadow boxes and candle holders. We still have a lot of summer ahead of us and more projects and fishing trips to come.

The fourth was my birthday and Glen took me up to Park City for shopping and a night away. We stayed at the Westgate hotel in the Canyons and it was sooo nice! Even though it was only one night it was a great little vacation. My favorite part of the room was the giant tub! (i want one of those one day). Next was Stratton's birthday! Because of his obsession with Toy Story he had to have a Toy Story birthday.

This post is all about FOOD The first pictures are glen's creation. If any of you like Tempura then you have to come try Glens because he is pretty much a pro from his mission. We have chicken, carrots, zucchini, and potatoes. Soooo good! Second I am obsessed with making deserts, not even for me to eat; I just love to see what I can make. There is a blog where I get most my inspiration. Bakerella.com. I have made pudding cups out of melted chocolate, sorry no picture and my favorite Cake pop’s! Here are the pictures! Vacation!!!

So, we had a little vacation this weekend before school and work start back up. We decided to head to sunny St. George (which apparently was not very sunny till the day we left). We were under dressed compared to those at Zions and it was a little to cold to hike the narrows. We did lounge by the pool and shop the outlets though. On our way back to the hotel from Zions, we happened to stop at a trading post gift shop to see if we could get a cactus for Kandace. It just so happened that this place had a petting zoo. There were donkey's, deer, horses, bunnies, al pacas, and big horn sheep. We fed them carrots and (I) pet them. While we love vacations, an end to this one was particularly disappointing because we knew when we would be able to have a next one, which is never ha ha. Or that is what it seems like.

We have two weeks left of school then its off to St. George for a small vacation before we start school and work all over again!! Because I am obsessed with craft blogs I have recently tried a few things I have seen. For Easter I made a wreath out of eggs covered with papers from a book. It took about 4 hours to do, but it turned out really good! Also one of my favorite blogs is Bakerella. We decided to try making some of her cake pops. While they were suppose to be chicks, they just did not turn out like them so we changed them to a more simple design , (Glen's idea) and they turned out really good! here they are! Back in march we had a little March Madness party with our friends and made homemade wings and everything! Also just so everyone knows you don't need any knowledge of the teams to win. I beat glen in our bracket tournament.. had to get that out there:)

This weekend we went snowshoeing with Kenny & Kristin. We went up to Kristin's cabin and had plenty of open space to play around in! After we had some nice hot cocoa to end the night! Although the boys were on the ground most of the time everyone had fun!

New Member of the Family!

We have a new addition to our family! And no it is not a baby. It is our new African Pygmy Hedgehog, "Tuffy." He is 8 months old and is an albino hedgehog. We do consider him an animal rescue because the breeder we got him from was a little bit of a nutcase. However, she was nice enough to drive him down from Ogden and meet us in Salt Lake. Welcome to the family Tuffy!

Christmas was great! Mindi took Tori and I to the Festival of Trees. The trees and gingerbread houses were amazing! Sadly those are the only pictures we took of Christmas. Part of our Christmas present from my parents was going to the Zermatt for a night with Jocelyn and Jared. It was a wonderful break from a crazy first week of school. Yesterday my cousin Amber got married to Andrew. Everything went great and she looked so beautiful! she was married in the Salt Lake temple and her reception was at the Provo Library.

I am all done with finals and Glen only has one left! I got a new job at the BYU Comprehensive Clinic in the Taylor building. I have to learn a lot for it but it will be a fun job. For Thanksgiving we went to Missouri to visit Glen's mom and grandma and i finally got to meet Glen's mom's side of the family. It was great getting to know them all! Here are some pictures!

For Halloween Glen and I went over to Jen’s for a little Halloween party. I was a skeleton and Glen was a monster from Where the Wild Things Are. We got our sweet masks from Dollar Tree. Now for the best part…Collin Raye! Glen, knowing how much I love Collin Raye, got me an early Christmas present to see him! I know he is way old but has always been my favorite! It was at Desert Star Dinner Theatre in Salt Lake. We were treated to nice buffet dinner before the concert. The best part was it was a small room so there were only like 150 people in the room and we were very close! It was a Dream come true for me! I had already seen him twice but this time was the best! It was Amazing!

A lot has happened once again... First we had to put up a picture of our oven. When we first moved in our oven was VERY UGLY, it was yellow and didn’t match our kitchen after we painted all the cupboards. So thanks to my dad we used white appliance paint and painted our oven. It looks sooo much better now and we are very proud of ourselves! Next we got tickets to the Brad Paisley concert. While it did rain that night it was still a fun concert! Glen even gave up watching the BYU vs. Florida State football game to go listen to country. That’s how I know he loves me :). Lastly my grandpa Boppie passed away this last weekend. While it was sad, we were all happy now because now Boppie isn’t alone. He is now back with my grandma and that’s what we have to remember. Jocelyn, Stratton, and I were able to fly down to Texas for the funeral. It was good to be back in Texas again but I wish I could have stayed longer. We all remembered how funny and kind Boppie was because of the stories told at the funeral and anyone how knew him could agree. Boppie will be greatly missed but we all remember how happy he is now.

The Wedding!

We are sorry it has been so long! Things got so crazy with wedding planning, moving, and the actual wedding! We live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath right by my work in Orem. We painted all our furniture and our cabinets and our place looks really good! We still have a lot of organizing to do but it’s starting to look like we want it too. The reception was at Wadley Farms, and we were married in the Timpanogos Temple. The wedding went great and the day flew by for us! The weather was sunny right up to the reception (then we had a downpour with lightning showers.) We had to move the reception inside, then back out a few times so things got a little crazy but it turned out just how we wanted it too! For our honeymoon we went to Fort Myers Florida. It was a nice relaxing vacation. We went to the beach, and one night went on a nice dinner cruise. We start school monday but we will try and update more and add more pictures!

We were having a great time at the Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving point. We enjoyed seeing the Scotland Games, tents of various clans, and the Wicked Tinkers. (bagpipe band) We also saw lots of medieval Americans who enjoyed playing in armor with duct tape swords. They were even giving free sword lessons? I am sorry. A little too weird for us, but definitely entertaining. I wanted to try a nice pot of haggis, but Kandace was against me eating any kind of food there. On our way out, the rains came down, and the clouds lit up! Rain was pouring everywhere, tidal waves on the freeway. Lighting less than one mile away! (according to the lightning rule of counting seconds) Still alive and kicking. We also went to hike Stewart Falls with Jocelyn and Jared a week earlier. It was a good hike, with good weather. Opportunities... The Utah Thunder. Arena football B team. We had a good time watching this crazy game. I believe the fans are more crazy than the sport itself. We saw a couple of BYU graduates on the team also. Not to mention an old co-worker (later identified by my boss) who was one of the crazy gothic fans. Foot stomping was his specialty. The Thunder mutilated New Mexico. It was a good experience, although we both agree arena football is for the lazy football players who love hard hits and short running distances.

Bowling... Parents were gone and we were ready for some fun! Results are:

April 24th, 2009- Arbor Day...
Who doesn't want to plant a tree on Arbor Day?... Kandace didn't want to. Her mom even made her wear jean shorts because her basketball shorts didn't make the cut. She had no idea why we were even planting the tree. Later that night, we went to the Foundry Grill up at Sundance where we found out that quality and quantity are two different things. After a quick decision on where we should have dessert, we were off to Kneaders. I called Janet while we were in the bathroom and she lit the candles for us. We walked in and I think that is when she realized I was going to propose. I sat her down and sang/played the guitar song which I had written for her. I proposed and she said, "You know I will." We slow danced to the previously recorded version of the song and I gave her a shadow box with the words of the song written inside. The shadow box also contained a tree like the one we planted earlier that day. This had some refence in which we were going to be starting our own family. We came over to her house and called friends and family. Now if she is ever mad, I will just call someone and have her tell them she is getting married. She gets all giddy and giggles.
